The 8th Legislative District Reps. Larry Haler and Brad Klippert – will host town hall meetings Saturday, April 28, at three locations.
The lawmakers will give an overview of the 2012 Legislature and then take questions and comments from the audience. There also will be time afterward for people to talk with their lawmakers individually.
“The multiple legislative sessions of the past few months have been eventful to say the least,” said Haler, R-Richland. “Our town hall meetings provide folks with the opportunity to personally touch base with their elected officials and hear for themselves firsthand information on how the decisions made by the Legislature may be impacting their lives. It’s a good time of listening and exchanging information – something I always look forward to. I’m excited to hear from residents in the 8th District.”
“It is essential the people we represent know that they have an open door to let us know how they feel about the issues we dealt with this year in Olympia,” added Klippert, R-Kennewick. “Personal interaction with local citizens goes a long way toward ensuring open and transparent government; and personal interaction with constituents and all citizens of Washington state is the part of my job I enjoy the most.”
