Sen. Don Benton and Rep. Paul Harris, will host a town hall meeting on Saturday, Feb. 18. Residents in the 17th District are encouraged to attend and bring their questions and concerns. The morning meeting will be a discussion about legislative and community issues.
The time and location of the meeting are as follows:
Mountain View High School Auditorium
10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
1500 SE Blairmont Dr.
Vancouver, WA 98683
“Town hall meetings are a great opportunity to communicate directly with the constituents about the budget and other issues before the Legislature, as well as those facing the community," said Harris, R-Vancouver. “We are over halfway through the session and I want to have a better understanding of the priorities of my constituency. We still have a lot of work to do in our final few weeks and their input is important to me.”
“As lawmakers, we are charged with doing the ‘people’s business’ and we need to hear from Clark County citizens,” said Benton, R-Vancouver. “There are huge decisions to be made about how we solve the current budget crisis and what needs to be done to stop government waste of taxpayer dollars and ensure sustainable budgets in the future.”
Residents unable to attend the meetings can call, e-mail or write. Sen. Benton can be reached at don.benton@leg.wa.gov or (360) 786-7632. And, Rep. Harris at paul.harris@leg.wa.gov or (360) 786-7976.
The 60-day legislative session is scheduled to adjourn March 8.
